Founded in 1940, The Justice Society made history as the first publicly visible team of costumed crimefighters, defining the general public's idea of what made someone a superhero.
Later becoming part of the All Star Squadron as its members began to take part in World War II, the Justice Society remais active as a distinct team to the present day. Several of its founding members remain active as superheroes, while the legacy of the original ten members has also led to their heirs joining at the Society's table. The Justice Society has inspired many similar teams throughout the world, including Japan's Seigi Kyōkai. |
