"You don’t get it, you really don’t. Metal loves Red, bruv. Without Red life, there’s no-one smelting ores, refining steel, turning sand into silicon."

Princess Venus Aphroditiaia was not simply the firstborn of two princesses to rule Aphrodite's world, not simply the first among the children of the ascended goddess Psykhe born in prehistory to dwell on the second planet from the Sun, but its very heart; as a Senshi, she bore the Sailor Crystal that embodied the living soul of the planet. In a very literal way, she was the heart of Venus itself, and stood alongside her sister Desira as a guiding light to the Venusians.

Until, that was, the Lord of Chaos calling itself Queen Metalia corrupted a woman of the Earth Kingdom, giving rise to the Dark Kingdom rebellion under Beryl. Fighting valiantly alongside her fellow Senshi, Venus saved many lives and averted much disaster... at the ultimate cost.

Rebirth
Twenty millennia later, the Star Seed of Venus was born again to a new form, the infant Aino Minako. Located in her early teens by the reawakened Moon Kingdom attendant whose name was best expressed in present-day phonemes as 'Artemis', Minako regained a portion of her ancient power and battled against the machinations of the Dark Agency, a forward-thinking branch of the Dark Kingdom that focused on media-based offenses in eastern Asia. Defeating numerous opponents, 'Sailor V' was eventually heartbroken to learn that her crush 'Ace' was not only now Danburite of the Dark Agency, but also the reincarnation of the fallen Sun Kingdom knight Adonis. When Danburite's actions forced her to defeat him with a fatal blow, something broke in the young heroine.

Torn apart by the tragedy of reconnecting with her past life in the form of an enemy who encouraged his own death at her hands, Minako fell into a fugue of following the instructions of the manipulative Superintendent-General of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, Sakurada Natsuna. A self-described Sailor V fangirl, the unscrupulous Natsuna coerced Minako into being her agent, sending her on international travels to battle alongside agents of Interpol, Checkmate, and even Spyral.

Codename No More
Heading to the United States after hearing the news of the death of Superman, Minako was shocked to encounter her ancient ally and senior among the Solar System's princesses, Serenity the Younger. Even more shocking was that Serenity's current incarnation was an anti-authoritarian rookie heroine by the name of Usagi, who had chosen to reject the ancient 'Sailor' title and call herself 'Citizen Moon'. A teamup between the two led to Minako reconsidering many of her recent actions, bonding with Copper of the Metal Men and finding a way to be a heroine that did not reject the loving ways of her ancient heritage.

As part of an unofficial team working to help the senior heroes of Earth, Minako briefly experimented with returning to the identity of Sailor Venus, before her encounters with evil led her to regrow her original incarnation's Venusian wings. During adventures in Gotham, she took to another new identity: Flying V. In this role, she ultimately took part in a raid on the Dark Kingdom's headquarters in the Antarctic, meeting with a group of Venusian guardians of hidden polar gardens and securing their help in liberating the Dark Kingdom from the corrupting influence of Metalia. Seeing her ancient foe defeated, Minako returned to Venus to recover, train, and learn more about who she had been.

V For Victory
An attempt to visit her current incarnation's family and friend on Earth during a vacation from training led to Minako crashing in upstate New York, getting caught up in a formative adventure of the team that would become Young Justice.

Special Abilities:
  • Artistry: Minako is a professionally trained manga assistant and is familiar with many of the skills and resources needed for this work.
  • Attunement to The Metal: Minako has an innate connection to The Metal, an elemental force that connects all life that is primarily constructed from metallic elements, granting her a telepathic sensitivity to robots, machines, and spirits of metal and machinery, as well as the ability to psychokinetically manipulate metals. This power is significantly stronger in her transformed state, and even more pronounced when interacting with metals of Venusian origin.
  • Flight: having had her Venusian heritage from her past life restored, Minako possesses a natural pair of butterfly-like wings that grant her limited powers of flight. In her powered state, these wings have a span of about two meters; in her unpowered form, they shrink down to a half meter span, granting her the ability to slow her fall when exposed.
  • Linguistics: A native speaker of Japanese and Venusian, Minako is also fluent in English and Themysciran.
  • Martial Arts: Minako is trained in Keijojutsu, Savate, Themysciran Combatives, and the disarmament-focused Venusian martial arts.
  • Peak Athleticism: even before her powers were restored in this life, Minako was self-trained to an exceptional degree of athletic ability for her age level, and is in particular at record-setting levels of ability in running, vaulting, and gymnastics without relying on her meta-powers.
  • Transformation: Minako is able to switch between an unpowered state, and a 'Sentōin' form that summons her battle garb and bolsters her innate abilities.
    • Magic: the Venus Crystal which serves as Minako's Star Seed grants her magical powers of love and metal, including but not limited to energy projection and metallokinesis.
    • Venusian Armor: Minako's current battle garb is a suit of Venusian gold full platemail armor including a mask and armed with Whip of Love and the Sword of the Silver Crystal, a pair of potent magical weapons. She can conjure or dismiss elements of this equipment with a gesture.
