"Wait, you're not mad at me, are you? I said 'no offense'!"
Empowered in a Speed Force storm that hit her hometown of Central City, Avery found herself ironically immobilized by her inability to slow down, remaining alone in her bedroom until the Flash arrived to offer advice in a meditative practice he'd found helped him with the same issue by focusing on what she loved most. Citing her family (including her dog), her red sneakers, and the Tales of Fire and Ice book series, Avery was able to get control over her powers and start training under Dr. Meena Dhawan of Star Labs. Together with Dr. Dhawan and the Flash, Avery began to work to help the innocent and oppose those who would misuse their speed, becoming a witness to the crimes of the killer cop who called himself 'Godspeed'. Unlike many others who had been empowered in the storm, Avery chose to keep her speed when given the option to become a normal person again.

Briefly falling in with Chien Na Wei's "China White" Triad, Avery shortly realized her mistake when her new boss instructed her to attack Superman and Super-Man. Choosing once again to use her powers heroically, Avery became the Flash of the Justice League China and engaged in an on-and-off romance with Super-Man.

Special Abilities:
  • Linguistics: Avery speaks fluent English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Speed Force Conduit:
    • Molecular Acceleration: Avery is capable of controlling the speed at which her constituent molecules vibrate, allowing her to phase through physical matter, turn invisible, or even travel between realities.
    • Speed Force Aura: a 'friction cushion' protects Avery's body from the harmful consequences of moving at accelerated speeds, including granting superhuman resistance to impact, pressure, and wind.
    • Speed Force Manipulation: through her control over her connection to the Speed Force, Avery can absorb the momentum of other objects and cause them to decelerate while increasing her own rate of movement. By interlocking her aura with other sources of the Speed Force and the artificial Negative Speed Force (including users thereof, and Speed Force storms), she can drain away its power.
    • Superhuman Agility: Avery has greatly heightened manueverability, proprioception, and balance, matching the necessary abilities to allow her to move at her top speeds.
    • Superhuman Perception: Avery's senses are attuned to her powers, allowing her to perceive and react to the world at a highly accelerated rate.
    • Superhuman Speed: Avery's principle power is the ability to move at superhuman speeds exceeding the top speed of most artificial means of conveyance. Her reflexes and mental processing speed are similarly heightened, allowing her to accelerate in response to sudden and unexpected events.
      • Vortex Generation: by rotating her limbs or moving in tight circles at heightened speeds, Avery can generate dense whirlwinds that exert suction or direct force, allowing her to slow her descent when falling or draw objects towards her.
    • Superhuman Stamina: Avery can continue to move at speed for far longer than a baseline human, in spite of the heightened demands of her metabolism.
